The wife of Jigawa State Governor Hajiya Dr. Amina Umar Namadi assured the state government’s commitments towards improving the life of women and children in the state.
Dr Amina gave the assurance while delivering her remarks to mark the celebration of International Women Day organized by Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Women’s Committee on Tuesday, held at the Hall of Medical and Health Workers’s Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) in Dutse.

” As we celebrate International Women Day (IWD), I assured you more commitments of Jigawa State’s government on women inclusion in various opportunities as women served as mother of all in any community”, she said.
According to her, state government introduced various programmes that focuses on women with aims to address their challenges, empowering them and provides more opportunities for them to stand independent.
While delivering her remarks, the chairperson, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Jigawa State chapter Comrade Salma Ilyasu Abubakar said, the gathering is not only to celebrate but, to reflect to challenges and to take action, with a theme “Right Justice and Action for All Women and Girls”.
Comrade Salma Ilyasu Abubakar who said the theme calls on women to move beyond promises but into deliberate and sustained efforts that will transform the lives of women and girls across the state.
She maintained that, the theme also speaks to three critical pillars that include; every women and girls is entitled to fundamental human rights, education, healthcare, decent work, and freedom from violences and discrimination. Other pillar is ensuring Justice is accessible and responsive, system must work for women, protect them and hold violators accountable. The last pillar is breaking barriers, challenges harmful norms, and create opportunities for women to lead and succeed.
