The Jigawa State executive Council during it’s seating held on Monday has approved the award of contracts valued at Twelve Billion, Six Hundred and Eighty-One Million, One Hundred and Thirty-Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty-Five Naira, Sixty-Eight Kobo
(₦12,681,139,645.68) only for the construction, supply and general renovation of selected Senior Secondary Schools across Jigawa Stateto 26 successful contractors.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State commissioner for Information, Youths and Sports Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed and made it available to news men.
According to the statement, the approval covers major infrastructure interventions in over 50 Senior Secondary Schools across the state. As the effort representing a significant investment by the administration in improving the quality, accessibility and standard of educational infrastructure for students and teachers.
The statement said, the intervention is aimed at addressing critical infrastructure gapsin senior secondary schools,improving teaching and learning conditions, reducing pressure on existing facilities and ensuring that students across the State have access to better educational environments.
“The investment is firmly anchored on the 12-Point Agenda of His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, which places strong emphasis on strengthening education, developing human capital and creating the necessary conditions for sustainable socio-economic development of the State”, the statement said.
